FREE FOR ALL AGES! A suggested donation of $5 is greatly appreciated to support the 2022 Derby.

RULES:

The derby is on Saturday, February 26th from 6am-3pm.

All fish must be registered by the person that caught them. You may not give a fish to another contestant to register. Exceptions will be made prior to the start of the tournament for handicap and elderly participants.

Competition tickets are required for registering fish and collecting grand and raffle prizes.

Contestants are encouraged to bring a 5-gallon bucket and water scoop to transport the fish you catch from your hole to the weigh-in station to help keep fish alive. There will be a release hold by the judge’s table.

Fish are judged based on length. In the case of a tie, the earliest entry breaks the tie.

All fish must be caught and on the way to the judge’s table by 3pm.

All contestants must comply with VT Fish and Wildlife Department laws. Only in-season and legal-length fish will be allowed.

All contestants 15 years and older must have a valid VT Fishing License.

Portable and permanent fishing shelters are allowed.

There are certain inherent risks and dangers associated with ice fishing. Retreat Farm is not liable for any injury or loss of life or property. All contestants are responsible for their own safety and knowledge of their surroundings.

Failure to comply with any of the contest rules subjects the contestant to disqualification and removal from the competition site, as determined by derby officials. Right to refuse or revoke a competition ticket to anyone is hereby reserved to derby officials.
