Baby calves have arrived

The Farm has felt a bit lonely without Carlos the Ox. While we can never replace our beloved Carlos, these adorable one-week-old calves will soon fill our pastures with a renewed sense of wonder and awe.

Thanks to Miller Farm, we’re adding two Holstein bull calves to the Farm!

Aren’t they precious?

Our partnership with Miller Farm started with our agricultural lands in 2016. Over the past five years, the Miller Farm team converted 210 acres of Retreat Farm’s conventional corn and hay fields to organic, growing healthier soils. Today, this land provides 20% of the feed for Miller Farm’s organic dairy operation.

Bringing Holstein calves to the Farm is a unique opportunity to showcase Miller Farm and build educational programming that celebrates Retreat Farm’s agricultural history through the campus and Retreat Farm Market.

Starting this summer, we're created two exciting opportunities for you to get up close and personal with the animals.

And welcoming these calves is just the beginning. We've taken your feedback to heart and created two exciting opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals. Starting this summer, join us on Wednesdays for Animal Tours, where you'll get a personal introduction to each animal, or on Fridays for afternoon chores and visiting hours. Stay tuned for more information.

We heard how important the animals at Retreat Farm are to you.
But we need YOUR support.
